Knowledge Base

AfricaLics is dedicated to advancing the field of research in innovation and development studies.  A key problem facing many students and early career researchers in this field based in African universities is that they struggle to access core materials.  There are two reasons for this:

  1. There are few courses at Masters and PhD level that are dedicated to the study of innovation and development studies as a discreet field of study.
  2. There are few easily accessible resources that focus specifically on innovation and development studies theory, methods and practice in the context of African states – the field is still dominated by materials that focus on issues and case studies in other parts of the world.

AfricaLics is trying to change this by:

  1. Providing a resource base – a ‘go-to’ guide of key materials – to provide a starting point for students and early career researchers who want to understand the field of African innovation and development studies better
  2. Providing template learning and teaching materials for those interested in developing new courses at Masters and PhD level in African universities.
