Here we provide details of key theoretical references across the different literatures that make up innovation and development studies, references to help design research projects in this area (i.e. the main qualitative and quantitative methods used in the field) and some examples of research done in the sectoral areas of health, agriculture, energy and gender.
In 2021 we will also be commissioning a number of ‘state of the art’ reports to interrogate a number of key sectoral areas more thoroughly in which African innovation and development research is focused. We piloted this in 2020 with a review of literature on gender and innovation.
